When will the iPhone 5 be available for purchase? - Technology - Cell Phones

We have recieved confirmations that the iPhone 5 will be indeed launched on the 4th of October, but how long will we have to wait till we can find the device in stores and be able to purchase it. We have now received reports that the iPhone 5 will arrive in the U.S, Japan and some parts of Europe only from the middle of next month.

Reports have been received from the Japanese website called Macotakara stating that the iPhone 5 will be launched in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, and Japan on October 14. This is 10 days after the rumored iPhone launched, which has been just confirmed by Apple as we have just posted for our readers. You may ask, why are we believing these rumors? We expect that these rumors are true because, as we have previously reported, that Apple has stopped all employee vacations during the time around October 14th and October 15th, defending this decision by saying that they are anticipating a large number of customer demand during this time. Also we are led to believe the source as they have been right before when they have posted about other rumors. Other reports have been received from Orange France which were given by its CEO, Stephane Richard, that suggested that the launch day will be on the October 15th.

We received reports by this site back in March that Apple was not ready for the launch of the fifth generation iPhone in June and that the announcement will be delayed. October 14th is a Friday, and is not the first time that Apple announces an iPhone just before the weekend. If we remember correctly Apple launched the iPhone 1, iPhone 3 and the iPhone 3GS on Fridays on 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively. Between all the iPhones the iPhone 4 is the only one that has not been launched on a Friday. We are interested to listen to your opinions and your expectations about the iPhone 5 and the iOS 5.So let's start a discussion down there in comments area , let's begin with the most important question , Apple to release the iPhone 5 alongside the iPhone 4S ? iPhone 5 Is Made to Work Better - Technology

For all of those iPhone fans out there, it seems that the news regarding the new iphone 5 are keeping their flow and more and more details are disclosed from various sources about it. There are millions of people that are hardly waiting to get their hands on this phone and the reason is that it is rumored to have very unique features that no other phone has come up with yet and it is also a reason for comparing it with the current best phone on the market, the Galaxy S2 (which I currently own and can say it's amazing!). No doubt that there have been many rumors left out on the open and we will talk about a few things in regards to this.

In regards to the iphone 5 release date, you should know that the release date has been somewhere in between June and July scheduled at first, but then again, Steve Jobs has declared that the release will be postponed until September, when the new Smartphone will get its official release date. We are already in August, so there is little time until the new iPhone will get to be released, which is making everyone feel very much anxious about it.

On the forums, many users are talking about the possible feature that the new Apple iPhone will get to feature. Some are saying that the new phone will not only have around 64 GB of memory, but it will also have an improved display (well I don't know how much they can improve it, but it remains to be seen) and a new form factor.

Rumors have been going on that the phone's form factor will get to be changed and that is really not good to be honest, as the case manufacturers will not like this at all. More to that, we all know that Steve Jobs did not ever like to see a phone that has a home button and that is why it is scheduled, at least in the presuppositions of people, that the new iPhone will not have one featured and it will be a fully touch screen operated mobile device.

For now it seems that there are also expectations that the new iPhone will also come with USB ports. Of course, the iphone 5 jailbreak is also an interesting topic that users are debating right now, each of them already hardly waiting for getting their hands on the phone and doing it.

And of course, how can anyone deny the utter challenge between the Galaxy S2 and the new iPhone5, as they will be both very powerful phones.

The Powerful Apple iPhone 4 - An Overview - Technology - Cell Phones

The Apple iPhone 4 is definitely a smartphone experience to remember. Not having used any Apple products before, I decided to take the plunge by getting one last November 2010, just 5 months after its release in June 2010. I was keen to see if the iPhone 4 really delivers on exceeding the usual expectations on what a smartphone can do.

Upon opening the box, you would be greeted with a 3.5 inch touchscreen phone weighing 137 grams. It is shaped in a rectangular slate bar with a frame of stainless steel. This is quite a marked change from the curved rounded back of the earlier iPhone 3GS. Typical of Apple's clean design that is also found on its MacBooks, there are very few buttons found on its exterior. There are 2 volume buttons, a silent mode switch, a lock screen button and a home menu button. The feel of holding the stainless steel frame is pretty satisfying, and it is interesting to know that this is actually the antenna of the iPhone 4 as well.

Now comes the best part of actually turning on the iPhone 4. The multi-touch screen is very slick, quick, and responsive thanks to the power of its Apple A4 processor running at 1GHz with 512MB eDRAM. In fact, the smoothness of its touchscreen is still what sets the Apple iPhone 4 apart from other smartphone rivals.

The killer feature of the iPhone 4 is the Retina Display, which features the highest resolution of 326 pixels per inch on its little screen. This works out to a 960 by 640 resolution. At the time of this writing in October 2011, this record still remains unbeaten across all smartphones and tablets. Apple has succeeded in creating a display do pleasing to the eye that the human retina can no longer distinguish any pixels just by looking at the screen. This is what makes any viewing of text, photos, videos, web pages, games, and graphics such a pleasant experience that is not found elsewhere.

The iPhone 4 has also been beefed up over its predecessors with a 5 megapixel camera that is capable of shooting video in HD 720p at 30 fps. Although this is not the highest specs that exists today, it is still a joy to use the camera for both photos and videos due to the smoothness and slickness of Apple's interface, which allows quick sharing via emails and messages at a very decent image quality as well.

Packing the usual smartphone features of Wi-Fi, 3.5G and Bluetooth connectivity, its motion-sensing features enabled by its gyroscope and accelerometer provide the iPhone 4 a superior edge, particularly in allowing many more apps to be written and made available via its App Store. To date, there are already over 500,000 apps available in the Apple App Store, which makes the iPhone 4 the reigning king of apps, way ahead of Android at only about 230,000 apps.

The iPhone 4 also has its strength in the audio department, since it is essentially an iPod Touch with phone functions added in. Although its speakers sound a little weak on their own and the included earphones are not that impressive, but attach it to docks or any other premium headphones such as Beats and you would hear the difference compared to many other smartphones and MP3 players out there.

Available in black and white colours, the flash storage space options of 16GB and 32GB are still a little small, since there is no card slot for extra memory storage. Apple has also ensured the iPhone 4 is compatible with the newly-released iOS 5, which also enables new features such as iCloud for cloud storage, and iMessage for free messaging among all Apple devices.

The future looks great for the iPhone 4 and despite newer models being released such as the iPhone 4S, I am sure to keep the iPhone 4 running for quite a while, since it is the most complete smartphone experience packing in sheer ease of use and convenience all into one small handheld device.

Now that the iPhone 4S has been released, many UK networks are offering great reductions on their iPhone 4 tariffs, so if you want to get your hands on one, there has never been a better time.

Enjoy Phoning with The Fifth Generation iPhones - Technology - Gadgets and Gizmos

Speculations about the famous fifth generation iPhone are on sky-high. Even though the official announcement about the launch has been made, the authorities are keeping silence on its release date, price, memory, operating system and other added features. In this context, most of the iPhone fans are keen enough to know almost all the aspects related with the gadget. Right from the year of 2007 when the Apple Company launched the gadget, the popularity has always been on rise.

iPhone comes under the category of internet and multimedia enabled smartphones. The multipurpose device has facilities like video camera, media player, web browsing through Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, video mails, multi-touch screen, virtual keyboard etc. Apart from this, there is a huge collection of applications that can be accessed from the App Store. Some of the apps include games, GPS facility, social networking, reference and security etc.

The device is often updated with new features and then appears in the form of various generation phones. Originally the device was known as iPhone 2G or iPhone EDGE. It was the first generation type. The 3G followed it with sophisticated features like quad-band GSM, GPRS and EDGE. Each generation receives software update from the company, with the case of original version as an exception. The 3G was succeeded with 4G which is making its fame in the present market.

The proposed launching of the fifth generation version is a result of the insufficient reliability of the previous version. There are widespread complaints about signal problems and the breakage of touch screen. However, the iPhone 5G is expected to overcome all the shortenings and bring a revolution in the arena. It is speculated that the iphone 5 release date will be between July to September 2011. The main expected change is regarding the introduction of new operating system iOS5 and even a tie up between the Google Android and Apple.

iPhone5 is hoped to boast of high speed processor and improved battery life like none other. There are also rumors about the reality of 3G and 4G video chat facility. A huge memory of 64GB is also on the wish list of the fans. It is also anticipated that the newer one will be coming with a thin, easily handable body with a price rate similar to that of the 4G. Guesses are also about the show-up of an 8 megapixel camera. Face time video conferencing and sliding keypad is also on the rumor list. There is also hearsay about the curtain rising from the secret iCloud feature.

What you need to know about iPhone 5 ! - Other

iPhone 5 release date

This year's WWDC was about software, not hardware, with Apple focussing on iOS and Mac OS

A new report from China later stated that Q3 (which still includes July) is now the earliest we will see the iPhone 5, after the disaster in Japan pushed back supply of key components.

On 20 April 2011, it emerged that the iPhone 5 release date may be September 2011 rather than June/July. This date was cited by three sources who spoke to Reuters. As iOS 5 is set to be out in the Autumn, it's a safe bet that the iPhone 5 will make its debut sometime then.

On 17 May, we reported that Phones4U outed the iPhone 5 release date as 21 November 2011. We're not sure how Phones4U would know the release date at this stage, though, so take this particular snippet of information with a pinch of salt.

The iPhone 5 will debut alongside iOS 5 in the Autumn

iOS 5 will ship in the Autumn, says Apple. Could this coincide with the iPhone 5?

iPhone 5 form factor

The Wall Street Journal reported that: "Apple is also developing a new iPhone model, said people briefed on the phone. One person familiar said the fifth-generation iPhone would be a different form factor than those that are currently available. it was unclear how soon that version would be available to Verizon or other carriers."

This has since been backed up by reports from Engadget, which state the design will be a 'total rethink'.

Of course, since the iPhone 3G was followed by the 3GS it's possible the new iPhone won't be a total refresh and we'll see an iPhone 4S (or iPhone 4GS) before an iPhone 5.

An iPhone 4S looked more likely on 16 May 2011 after analyst Peter Misek wrote: "According to our industry checks, the device should be called iPhone 4S and include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support."

However, earlier reports from China backed up the larger-screened, metal chassis-sporting iPhone 5 rumours, so the redesign still seems firmly on the cards.

On 22 March 2011, China Times also reported that the iPhone 5 will feature a 4-inch display.

A rumour we covered on 7 March 2011 suggests that the new iPhone will do away with the glass back and opt instead for a metal back which will act as a new iPhone antenna.

And an Apple patent that we reported on on 7 April 2011 suggests that we could see the bezel put to good use on the new iPhone. The patent describes how visual indicators and touch-sensitive buttons could be incorporated to the space around the iPhone screen.

Rumours that we covered on 3 May 2011, suggest that there may even be two versions of the new iPhone: a 'standard' iPhone 5 and an iPhone 5 'pro'. Apparently, Apple is buying in components of differing quality, and those parts wouldn't be required for a single phone.

A cheaper, smaller iPhone 5 - an iPhone nano

A prototype version of a smaller iPhone is said to exist, built to ward off competition from cheap Android handsets.

Rumours around an iPhone nano picked up again on 13 February when the Wall Street Journal claimed that the so-called 'iPhone nano' exists and may even be on sale later this year.

Those iPhone nano rumours may hold little truth, though. As we reported on 18 February, the New York Times cites an anonymous source who says there will be no smaller iPhone from Apple. "The size of the device would not vary," says the source.

A white iPhone 5

The Economic Daily News is reporting that white iPhone 5 glass is being shipped, with a supplier called Wintek being the sole touch panel vendor for the white iPhone.

iPhone 5 will support 1080p HD

It's fairly likely - given that the iPad 2 supports Full HD - that the new iPhone will do the same.

iPhone 5 specs

According to the Chinese Economic Daily News (via AppleInsider), with the exception of Qualcomm chipsets - which would replace the current Infineon chipsets in the iPhone 4 - Apple's sticking with the same suppliers for the 2011 iPhone 5G components.

We'd expect the basics of the iPhone 5 specs to get a bump - more memory, faster processor, and more storage. The A5 dual-core ARM processor from the iPad 2 is extremely likely to be included.

The specs? A new antenna, 1.2GHz processor (possibly dual-core) and a larger screen: 3.7" instead of 3.5". The iPhone 5 may also be made from a new kind of alloy, or maybe meat.

iPhone 5 screen

In other rumours which surfaced on 15 February 2011, Digitimes is reporting on information supposedly leaked from component suppliers that claim the iPhone 5 will feature a larger, 4-inch screen. Digitimes quotes the source as saying that Apple is expanding the screen size "to support the tablet PC market as the vendor only has a 9.7-inch iPad in the market."

On 23 May, we reported on rumours that the iPhone 5 could feature a curved glass screen. These rumours also came from Digitimes, which said that Apple has purchased between 200 and 300 special glass cutting machines because they're too costly for the manufacturers to invest in.

The iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S will also get a massive graphical boost as it moves to a dual-core GPU - this could herald true 1080p output from the new device, according to our news story on 18 January.

iPhone 5 digital wallet

There's been some speculation that Apple might include Near Field Communication (NFC) technology in the iPhone 5G, turning it into a kind of credit/debit card. However, as Techeye.net notes, "Apple has looked into NFC before" so this might not be imminent.

However, with the tech being inside the Google Nexus S, the time for NFC may finally be here.

UPDATE: On 24 February 2011, we reported that an Apple patent has revealed an e-wallet icon on the iPhone homescreen. This adds credence to the rumour that iPhone 5 will feature NFC.

However, on 14 March 2011, reports in The Independent cited sources from 'several of the largest mobile operators in the UK', who said that Apple told them not to expect NFC in the iPhone 5. So perhaps we'll have to wait for iPhone 6 for that.

But who to believe? On 22 March 2011 China Times reported that the new iPhone will include an NFC chip.

LTE support

At least one analyst thinks the iPhone 5 will support LTE, super-fast mobile broadband, in the US. That would make the iPhone 5G a 4G phone, which won't be confusing at all. LTE is certainly coming - AT&T plans to roll out its LTE service in 2011 - but an LTE iPhone has been rumoured for a while. USA Today floated the idea of an LTE iPhone on Verizon last year.

iPhone 5 camera

Speaking at a live Wall Street Journal event, Sony's Sir Howard Stringer was talking about the company's camera image sensor facility in Sendai, a town that was recently ravaged by the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

According to 9to5Mac, he said something along the lines of, "Our best sensor technology is built in one of the [tsunami] affected factories. Those go to Apple for their iPhones. or iPads. Isn't that something? They buy our best sensors from us."

Other sources have also said that the new iPhone could have an 8MP camera.

iPhone 5 price

If the iPhone 5 is an evolutionary step like the move from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS then we'd expect the price to stay more or less the same, although in the UK higher VAT rates may well mean a higher price tag.

Comparing The Apple Iphone And The Android

The iphone and the Android phone are two different cell phones that can use operating systems to improve the capabilities of a cell phone. Some of the new capabilities include rapid email and messaging systems, assorted applications, touch screens and the ability to multitask.

The iphone is manufactured by Apple and is currently only sold through AT&T. Very shortly you will also be able purchase the iphone through Verizon as well. Apple brings out a new phone model once a year with a big media event. It will only support the current version of the iphone and the last version of the iphone. If you have an early model, you are dependent on after market support.

The iphone features a video call camera, a 3.5 display screen, 16GB or 32GB of memory, 5mp camera, video recording at 720p, two noise canceling speakers, WiFi access, GPS, and Blue tooth features. The iphone comes with a touch screen and is light weight at 4.8 ounces. The iphone has over 225,000 applications or small programs that you can run with your iphone. This programs or aps allow you to accomplish various functions over a broad range. An example is runpee which tells you when to go to the bathroom during movies at a theater so as not to miss the important parts.

The Android or Droid is manufactured by Motorola and is available through several cell phone companies including Verizon and Virgin Mobile. The Droid comes with 8GM expandable up to 40GB, touch screen, 4.3 display screen, 8mp camera, video recording at 720p, three noise canceling speakers, WiFi access, GPS, Blue tooth and hot spot capabilities. This phone is a little heavier at 5.4 ounces. The Droid has only about 20,000 aps at this time but the number is growing. The Droid operating system is based on open system which allows more user discretion in using the Droid. Motorola tends to bring out new models at random intervals but provides longer in-house support than Apple does.

These are some of the differences between the two phones:

The Droid does not have a video call camera.

Memory storage is larger on the Droid.

The Droid display screen is larger than iphone.

The Droid has more speakers.

The Droid can serve as a hot point for other equipment such as printers or computers.

The iphone has many more aps than Droid.

The iphone antenna on some G4 phones have reception issues.

The iphone tends to cost less over time than the Droid at this point.

The iphone is strictly controlled by Apple as far as improvements and support.

The Droid camera is able to photograph detail better than iphone.

The iphone transmits and downloads data faster than Droid.

Both phones are only available on certain cell phone carriers.

Your choice of a 4G phone depends on many factors. These include your intended use, your economics, which cell phone service you can use, your programming abilities and even which apps each phone has. This is not a decision to rush. Look at all the factors before you make a decision so that you will buy the best option for you. The increased vendor sources for the iphone should provide consumers with better pricing on both phones.

Verizon Iphone Vs. At&t Iphone

Thus, the iPhone 4 Verizon became official this morning, but is it enough to make you spend? The material should be roughly the same (although some cases may not work with the new version) so we'll break down the pros and cons of each version.

AT & T is no longer the only carrier to have the iPhone 4, so is there any reason to stick with the second largest carrier in the nation? Yes, indeed there are many reasons.

The first and perhaps most importantly, the AT & T iPhone 4 will get faster data speeds that Verizon's mobile equivalent. This version of the Apple smartphone can get up to 7.2 Mbps and download speeds of AT & T is already talking trash about how CDMA users will get used to life in the slow lane.

Of course, for users in large cities, the download speeds max does not matter if you could not get the service. We were just at the CES 2011 and found the AT & T was garbage service with tens of thousands of users around the iPhone. Perhaps a flood of users goes to Big Red could ease the burden on AT & T?

It is not only speeds if, like AT & T users will be able to make calls using mobile data simultaneously. Although I do not think it is as useful as Luke Wilson would he have us believe, it can be a life saver in those rare cases where this is necessary.

The AT & T folk have already been enjoying the smartphone from Apple for the last six months and we are required to see the 5 iPhone (or iPhone 4G, probably) on AT & T a few months. We're guessing this will be the only U.S. network for the latest and greatest mobile device from Apple in 2011. AT & T has also been very good about bumping the eligibility of updates at the beginning and can not be said about the iPhone Verizon 4.

In addition, if you're a fanatic like us absolute mobile and want to see all the latest cool phones like the Atrix 4G, it will be easier to discuss AT & T. In the absence of SIM, the iPhone Verizon will not make a good camera to take overseas, either.

The main attraction of the iPhone 4 Verizon is clear: it is the baby of the network. Verizon's 3G data network is not as fast as AT & T, but it has a coverage area and was much more consistent in our experiments. This means that owners of Apple's smartphone in major metropolitan cities should be able to use their iPhone as a real phone. Shocking, I know.

Big Red said that the device has been optimized for its 3G EV-DO and experience with programming Droid means it should be able to manage the flow of mobile data usage. I think Big Red, but I still want to see what happens when millions of new iPhone users surf the web and downloading applications on the go.

It is expected the iPhone 4 Verizon will have the option of an unlimited number of data per month for about $ 30 a month, but this has not yet been confirmed. Since AT & T offers its tiered pricing model, there is no way to get unlimited data, unless you have been acquired from a previous plan. Although less expensive data options are a great way to jump into the game smartphone, the IntoMobile team truly believes that an unlimited data plan is the best way to maximize your smartphone.

Another great advantage of the iPhone Verizon 4 is the ability to create a personal WiFi hotspot for up to five devices, a feature that is almost standard on all its new Android smartphone. The AT & T provides secure version, but only for a single device. There is no word on how much mobile hotspot will cost per month, but we were expecting about $ 20 or more per month in addition to mobile data and voice.

The key is that multiple networks to choose is a good thing for consumers and fans of Apple's iPhone will now have more options. What do you think, friends?

Archos Five Net Tablet Vs Apple Ipad Tablet Computer Comparison

A good invention from Apple; the iPad is the latest addition to Apple's touch-centered computer systems. An iPad is a unique invention positioned in between the iPod Touch and a laptop laptop or computer. There was a whole lot of enigma and also a good deal of hype surrounding its launch as to what would be its utility and wherever would it match in our existence. Submit its release it has by now achieved enormous recognition specifically amongst Mac lovers and has become the preferred option for older devices.

An Apple iPad has a 9.7" multi-contact LED screen getting a backlit show, with the keyboard of a typical computer getting substituted for a virtual a single. The unit is 9.5" lengthy, 7.5" extensive, and .5" thick with a 1024x768 display resolution. Operating on an A4 processor, it has flash storage value sixteen-64 GB, Bluetooth two.one and 802.11n Wi-Fi assist. The gadget weighs 1.six LBs and runs on a modified model of the iPhone OS, getting a ten-hour battery existence. Modern and fashionable, the device is manufactured of a mixture of reinforced plastic and aluminum. It arrives priced at $499.

The Archos 5 Web Tablet Pc on the other hand is an android powered gadget with a 5" display incorporated with all the internet connected functions crucial nowadays. With a display screen resolution of 800x480, the Archos 5 has a smooth design, but its real value is the computer software it runs on. It has Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth and USB two.. Other programs include e mail, contacts, internet browser, Droid In, Twidroid, Ebuddy IM, Dailymotion, Quickpedia, calculator, alarm clock and so forth. With a flash memory of 8 to 32 GB, for people requiring further storage there is also the alternative of 160 or 500 GB tough drive. The unit arrives priced at $250 for an 8GB edition and $500 for a 500GB Archos five tablet Pc. Powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor @ 800 MHz, it can be in comparison to the 600 MHz processor discovered in iPhone 3GS.

Theprincipal variation between the iPad and the Archos 5 is that whilst the former has a LED display with 1024x768 pixels display, the Archos five has a non-LED show with a screen resolution of 800x400 pixels only. But with its Android OS, the video clip top quality of the Archos 5 is very good. Making use of a 'resistive touch technology' the Archos five lacks on two elements. Firstly, the tactile sensation is not that very good with the finger sticking and leading to a smudge. A sliding motion throughout the screen also demands better stress.

Secondly, the Archos five Web Tablet does not assist multi touch. On the other hand the iPad has a multi-contact display with far greater resolution, results and amazing clarity. With a 9.7" show even though the iPad does not just match into a pocket, with a 5" display the Archos five technically does match in a pocket. Once again, the greatest disadvantage for the Archos 5 is that it delivers no Mac assistance.

Comparing Iphone 4 With The Htc Evo 4G

The Android Market is growing exponentially having reached the key milestone of 100,000 apps (as of Oct 2010).Launched on October 22, 2008, the Android mobile operating system has achieved momentum sales over the last two years. According to the NPD Group, the companys sales in May 2010 were increased by 8% from December 2009, achieving 28% of US smartphone sales. Moreover, according to Gartner Research, Android had a global market of 25.5% at the end of Q3 2010.

Being globally acknowledged as the iPhone killer, the HTCEVO 4G is the first Android phone around the globe to feature 4G technology. Launched on June 4, the HTC EVO 4G has been one of the most anticipated technology products of 2010,because of itsunique characteristics and innovative technology.

HTCEVO 4G vs. iPhone 4 Stating the Facts

Featuring a powerful QSD8650 1GHz Snapdragon CPU that allows users to have the benefit of high-quality multimedia applications on its huge 4.3 TFTLCD display, the HTCEVO 4G has at least matched the iPhone 4 in several specs. For some users, the iPhone 4 remains the absolute leader on the market, while for others, the HTCEVO 4G is better, mostly because of its Android 2.2 OS and the 4G network.

On the upside:

a ) Operating System

Introducing the Android 2.2 OS, also known as Froyo, since August 2010, the HTCEVO 4G actually targets the average consumers, and not necessarily the more tech savvy ones. The Android 2.2 OS has better features, can be highly customized and is easier to use.

b) Network Access

Simply put, HTCEVOs 4G network over iPhones 3G network provides data and streaming media at a much higher data rate allowing users to download and share multimedia files much quicker.

c) LCD Display

Although its display resolution is lower (800 x 480 pixel over 960 x 640 pixel), the HTCEVO 4G has a larger display (4.3 TFTLCD display over 3.5). Display resolution is definitely a consideration, but the larger display (that actually feels like a rugby field) gives the HTCEVO 4G an advantage over the iPhone 4.

d) Dual Camera

The HTCEVO 4G features an 8-megapixel primary camera over iPhones 5-megapixel primary camera. Moreover, the HTCEVO 4G features a secondary 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for live video chat and personal portrait photo shooting.

On the downside:

a) Dimensions

The HTC EVO 4G is heavier than the iPhone 4 (6 ounces over 4.8 ounces) and slightly bigger in size (4.8 x 2.6 x 0.5 over 4.5 x 2.3 x 0.37).

b) Network Access

Currently 4G network is offered by Sprint at 2.5GHz, offering higher bandwidth over lower frequencies, but it cannot penetrate buildings and elevators. This means that the 4G network is flawless depending on the coverage in the location of the user.

c) BatteryLife

Rather miserable considering 6 hours talk time over 7 hours talk time on 3G and 14 hours on 2G for the iPhone. Even worse, having the phone on Cell standby with 4G off Phone idle, and Android system mode, it consumes 75% of the battery life, which means that, practically, the battery life lasts on average up to 3 hours. There are tricks to extend EVOs battery life, but this is definitely an important factor to consider for a device like this.

d) Cost

The retail price of HTC EVO 4G starts at $599.99 and can go down to $199.99 through service agreements and special offers at Best Buy. The retail price of the iPhone 4 16GB starts at $599.99 and can go down to $199.99, while for the iPhone 4 32GB the retail price starts at $699.99 and can go down to $299.99 through service agreements and special offers at Best Buy. However, the maintenance costs and the monthly expenses for the HTC EVO 4G make it more expensive. Sprint offers the Sprint Everything Data 450 plan for $79.99 where it practically offers everything unlimited (calls, text messaging, web and 450 Anytime minutes). Moreover, the cost for carrying extra battery is between $10 and $50.

Android 2.2 Froyo vs. iOS 4

As already said, many users prefer the HTCEVO 4G over the iPhone 4 because of the Android 2.2 OS.

Here are several reasons why the Froyo is better than the iOS 4:

1. Froyo features a lot more applications allowing users to download what they want and not what Apple allows them to download.

2. Froyo has great built-in browsers that allow the use of third party browsers such as Opera or Firefox.

3. Froyo turns the phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot by giving Wi-Fi access to devices. Actually, it takes tethering to the next level by allowing users to freely use their EVO 4G as a broadband modem. The iPhone offers Bluetooth and 3G tethering as well, but users can freely use the Wi-Fi spots only if they jailbreak their iOS4 with the risk of destroying their phone.

4. Froyo gives access to more carriers. Apple is stuck with AT&T.

On the other hand, for business users, the iPhone 4 is better because the iOS4 features the unified e-mail inbox and better management tools that allow users to deploy, monitor, and manage their iPhone for business purposes.

In conclusion, by comparing the HTCEVO 4G and the iPhone 4 results are mixed, verifying that both devices are revolutionary and innovative. The bottom line is that choosing the best or the better between the two is a matter of subjective preferences and use. The decision may be more or less dictated by what is offered by the carrier and the intended use of the phone.

Iphone 4 Review: 1 - Hardware Fit & Finish

Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs called iPhone 4 the biggest leap yet for the company's smartphone franchise, and he wasn't just blowing the hot air. There's a lot to like about iPhone 4. From its slim design to its precision chassis to its fantastic display, the hardware looks and feels excellent. Unlike previous iPhones, there's no cheap plastic back cover. Unlike other smartphone alternatives, there's no array of buttons to keep track of, no rubber flaps or plastic covers to break off or wear out, and no pointer device needed to make up for a haphazard and flawed touch interface.

After the impressive design of the original iPhone, 2008's iPhone 3G introduced a cheaper looking plastic case, along with support for 3G and GPS, two of the most significant features missing on the original. iPhone 3GS brought improved speed with a faster Application Processor and more RAM, but retained that same cheap looking plastic body.

iPhone 4 smokes previous models inside and out, launching a new industrial design that isn't just nicer looking than the previous two plastic generations, but feels downright luxurious, with a mirrored glass front and back sandwiching a very thin, precision stainless steel body.

This is a fierce bit of kit

The new phone demands a sense of reverence, as if you're almost unworthy to use it. We mortals will instantly grease up both sides with our oily fingerprints, and if we're clumsy enough, we might drop or lose it unless we handle iPhone 4 as The Precious on our quest to make it through the day without nicking it up somehow. Jobs said the new device feels like an old Leica camera, and that's seems pretty spot on. It's not just nice looking, but exudes extremely sharp fit and finish unlike nearly any other consumer device I've recently come across.

Part of the reason for that is that everything else in the world is marching toward being efficiently cheap. When iPhone 3G appeared, I noted that despite its vulgar cheapness, the new design would enabling Apple to reach a wider, broader audience. This time around, Apple is wooing smartphone users upscale, but without jacking up the price.

This direction goes distinctly against the grain of consumer gear in general and smartphones specifically, which have been plunging toward cheap materials with simply styled plastic battery covers, rows of clunky buttons, and tacky light up trackballs. iPhone 4 looks like a a high end Sony design taken from the 80s and evolved along into an upscale luxury brand. Apple isn't just giving the iPhone 3GS a makeover; the new model humiliates the former, making it feel and look clunky, dumpy, and frumpy.

The only time you might prefer owning an iPhone 3GS is when you catch yourself watching in horror as your new iPhone 4 escapes your grasp and hurls toward the floor, as its new glass panel back is now just as easy to shatter as its front. If you find yourself dropping your phone a lot, do yourself a favor and get a case for it.

Is that $700 in your pocket?

The fit and finish and the appearance of every detail of the phone, from its headphone jack to its camera port, and from its volume buttons to its hold switch, is simply luxurious and precise in a way I have rarely seen in a consumer device. Of course, the iPhone 4 is also roughly $700, before your carrier's subsidy kicks in and brings the entry price to around $300. If you think about the device as a $700 bit of equipment, it will impact how you handle it, who you allow to use it, and where you choose to pull it out.

Apple's new iPhone isn't unique in its price; every other comparable smartphone costs about the same thing. But the company has really raised the bar in terms of what users should expect in build quality and design savvy. HTC's Droid Incredible and EVO 4G and Motorola's Droid X really look cheap and unsophisticated compared to iPhone 4 (as does Apple's own iPhone 3GS), yet they all still cost around $700 without that subsidy. If they wore real price tags, Verizon and Sprint probably wouldn't be able to sell very many.

In the auto market, there's a broad range of vehicle choices available to serve users, from the very expensive luxury high end to the simple, but much cheaper cars on the low end. In smartphones, there's now a wide range of quality, but there's no real difference in price.

That reality also has no precedent in the PC arena, where there has always been Apple on the high end opposed to cheap PC offerings, a large chunk of which cost much less because they delivered a lot less. The problem facing Apple's iPhone competitors is that smartphones can't get dramatically cheaper, because carrier subsidies hide a great deal of any price difference, ensuring that the entry price for consumers isn't very significant.

Were Apple, HTC and others duking it out over phones ranging from $99 to $700 at retail, Apple would have a much harder time introducing such a high end device to such ecstatic crowds of buyers. Incidentally, that issue is also why Apple can't really translate its iPhone success into the TV set top box market.

In between however, Apple has also introduced iPad as a very competitive tablet with no real rival, and the iPod touch as a similarly undisputed leader in the nearly uncontested market for sophisticated media players. The success of those products has leveraged Apple's success in smartphones, as the profitability of the iPhone has created economies of scale that have enabled Apple to sell the iPod touch for as little as $200 and iPads for $500, both far less than the real cost of iPhone 4.

And then you turn it on: Retina Display

I prepared myself for a mind-blowing screen, but all I saw was the same thing, an awful lot sharper. On the Retina Display of iPhone 4, text pops. Graphics and photos sizzle. But there's nothing that feels unexpected when you look at the screen. It seems both impressive and ordinary. Then I looked back at the iPhone 3GS screen and remembered how things were before iPhone 4.

Oh yes, the magic is there: the Retina Display is phenomenal. But like a boost in CPU speed or some more RAM, once you glance at the 960x640 pixel, 326 ppi resolution of the iPhone 4 screen your eyes establish a new baseline of normal. This looks the way the screen is now supposed to look.

The new display appears to be significantly less bright than the iPhone 3GS, but in my efforts to compare the two, it seems like the perceived brightness of the previous model is in part due to its softer, blurrier appearance. The Retina Display is razor sharp. No really; I never noticed a real problem with the iPhone's resolution before, but the new screen is simply amazing when you focus on details, especially in comparison with previous models. It is exacting and precise.

It truly does look like the output of a color laser printer, albeit using glossy paper that magically glows. Twenty years ago, I was transfixed by the sharp black text spit out of Apple's original LaserWriter. Now, I have a dynamic color screen that fits in my pocket, and that screen has an even higher resolution. This is definitely some crazy futuristic stuff, but it's now, immediately, the new normal.

As for performance, while being slightly less bright, the screen is not just dramatically sharper than previous iPhones, but also sports wider viewing angles, both side to side and up and down. It performs very similar to the IPS displays in the latest MacBook Pros, although again, the ppi of the Retina Display is approaching a pixel density three times as high (Apple's 17 inch notebook is 117 ppi vs iPhone 4 at 326 ppi).

For all the pre-launch hysteria about how Apple was exaggerating and misstating its resolution in comparison to the human retina, the new screen isn't anything approaching an inflated bit of marketing noise; it's the real deal. It will ruin your retinas for ever returning to a lower resolution screen however.

So far, apart from those that have already dropped theirs, or a small number of people who have received defective units, build issues have largely been constrained to a temporary spotting issue that seems to resolve itself. There are however other issues with iPhone 4, and they relate to its most important function: calling.

Issues related to antenna signal (both actual performance and the reported signal meter), proximity sensors (for blanking the phone's screen while you have it next to your face talking), and calling features will be outlined in part 2, focusing on the Phone and FaceTime.

Nokia XM 5800 vs Nokia XM 5235

Recently my friend bought a Nokia 5800 navigation edition and couldnt stop praising and adoring it. He was in doubt on what mobile he should get. His budget was Rs.10, 000/- which isnt less but not too much with respect to the things we have in this world of gadgets.

He asked me about several mobiles (Smartphones in particular) and I suggested him many from HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericson, Nokia and Motorola. Finally he told me that he would go for Nokia (something he has in his mind that Nokia is much more dependable than any other mobile industry in India).

So we came across Nokia Xpress Music 5800 navigation edition and Nokia Xpress Music 5235. Both phones are basically the same but price difference cant be ignored. Nokia XM 5235 is available for Rs.9500/- while he bought Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition (finally) for Rs.13,400/-. Now, you must have gotten a faint idea on how nice this mobile is, that he could raise his budget from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.13,400/-.

Ill list few major features which are not common in these mobiles. First of all, Nokia XM 5235 doesnt have a Wi-Fi which can be considered as a must have nowadays. Secondly, it offers only 2 MP camera without flash, which is a no-go for photo lovers. Then, it offers no secondary camera for video calling feature (it does have 3G band). With 3G in the market, it would be hard to resist the urge of video calling your mates. Thats why a secondary camera is must, even Steve Jobs knew it was a must have for their new iPhone 4. Battery life is weaker than Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition.

Rest is same for both the phones (nearly). Processor speed, 3.2 resistive touch screen, 16M colors, 3.2 mm audio jack, 3G, etc. So, our conclusion was, we must go for Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition. An increase of Rs.3400/- was manageable.

Apple Iphone vs Apple Ipod Touch - A Review

Back in the summer of 2007 Apple introduced its darling, the Apple iPhone. It was being seen as the most revolutionary high tech gadget of its time. However, at the same time Apples iPod Touch with virtually all the same bells and whistles as the iPhone except for the cell phone feature, was barely heard from. Let's take a look at both and compare:

Is Cheaper Better? It seems that this holiday season the cheaper, thinner iPod Touch has been the favorite among many consumers. Given this current economy and the price point of the iPod Touch at anywhere from $180 to $399 depending on memory capacity it seems to be the bigger hit than the iPhone. The iPod Touch can do just about anything the iPhone can, for that much cheaper price. Both run the multi-touch interface and both can run almost all of the programs in the Apple Apps store. That is over 100,000 Apple apps at last count.

Do You Need Cellular? The biggest difference in the iPod Touch to the iPhone is that the iPod Touch does not work over a cellular network. An iPod Touch needs to be near a Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless network available in many places. The iPod Touch needs this Wi-Fi to be able to go online or to download Apple apps. Fortunately, Wi-Fi is becoming more available to consumers. Many have them in their homes and they can be found at offices, airports, and coffee bars. Many of these places charge either very little, a couple of bucks or give you free access to their Wi-Fi.

Data Network Burdens: With the iPhone you are committed to using AT&Ts cellular network. That commitment of at least two years can cost an iPhone user about $100 in monthly cellular charges. Recent announcements by AT&T of the extra burden the iPhone has put on their data network have also made some people hesitant to commit. Their have been reports of frequently dropped calls and spotty Internet connections in bigger cities such as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In Conclusion: Consumers who are wary of Apples iPhone, AT&T commitment have found ways around their cellular need. Many are sticking with their old cellular phone and buying the less expensive iPod Touch for downloading and going online. Others are waiting as many of the iPhone features such as multi-touch interfacing and expanding apps to be available on future smart phones.

Reasons Why You Should Never Buy An iPhone 3GS

This article will attempt to show you how you would be better off buying one of the other smartphones that are currently sold at the same price as the Apple iPhone 3GS or at even lower prices than the iPhone.

Inability to Multitask: It is almost impossible to believe that the smartphone touted as the hottest and best mobile device in the world can only run one application at a time. That the iPhone 3GS cannot multitask in this age of advanced communications is ONE colossal reason why a discerning consumer read human should not buy it. Even the Nokia 3230, sold back in 2005 had users playing games over Bluetooth connections while playing music on their individual phones, and those users would still have a number of applications running in the background. This 3230 did not possess up to a quarter of the hardware and hype that the iPhone boasts of.

Lack of Bluetooth Compatibility with Other Devices: The iPhone 3GS lacks true Bluetooth capability as its Bluetooth can only be used with a headset on the iPhone. It cannot be used to transfer files like all other devices with Bluetooth technology are capable of. You certainly cannot use it to play games with a friend by creating a Bluetooth connection like a lot of cheaper smartphones can.

Lack of Physical Keypad: The fact that the iPhone 3GS does not come with a physical keypad makes typing a real chore when using it. The iPhones competitors mostly feature keypads that can be easily revealed by sliding them out and these make typing long text a lot easier. If you are wearing gloves because it is cold, the iPhones virtual keypad will not work.

Lack of Support for Adobe Flash and Java: Apple must simply love to mess with its iPhone users if it refuses to allow support for technology that:

Adobe Flash is the technology that makes it possible for websites to display those flashing videos that make their pages more attractive. Java allows the utilization of fantastic but lightweight mobile applications and cool web apps. But no, Mr. Steven Jobs says you cannot have them.

Lack of an In-built FM Tuner: Users of the iPhone must surely get tired of listening to their own music collections all the time and definitely, not everyone wants to pay money to listen to the radio (even if it just 99 cents). The added requirement of having an internet connection before one can simply listen to the radio should be a big hassle for everyone except of course, the die-hard iPhone lovers out there. The iPhones competitors (especially Nokia) can boast of FM tuners in almost every phone they sell and certainly make their devices a lot more functional than the iPhone will ever be.

Lower Screen Resolution: Compared to its current competitors such as the Motorola Droid, Samsung Omnia, and so on; the screen on the iPhone might well have been developed by John Logie Baird. It is way behind when its screen resolution is equated with that of the other smartphones in its league.

Lower Camera Resolution: The iPhone 3GS boasts of a measly 3.15-megapixel camera. Just to keep it simple, how about this: The Motorola Droid and Samsung Omnia both have 5-megapixel cameras (plus flash).

Lack of Camera Flash: Taking pictures in a dimly-lit environment with an iPhone 3GS is a big waste of time - despite Apples claims of certain software it has built into the iPhone to improve picture-taking in such situations. Its competitors all have camera flash and certainly produce brighter pictures when the need arises.

Lack of True Ownership of Device: Let us count the following ways in which Apple still owns your iPhone 3GS even after you have paid for it in full:

- The only applications you can install on your iPhone are those Apple says you can and which you have to buy from its App Store.

- The only way to get music into your iPhone would be to use the Apple iTunes software. Apple also expects you to buy a lot of those songs from its online iTunes music store.

- You are required to return your iPhone back to Apple for minor issues such as having the battery changed and which it proceeds to do for a steep fee.

- It dictates which phone service provider that you can use with your iPhone.

So there you have it. The above is a fairly exhaustive description of the Apple iPhone 3GSs shortcomings but it seems there are few more points that could have been added. Maybe those issues will be held in reserve for another salvo when the time is right. Thank providence for jail-breaking.

Addendum: Better smartphones available for about the same price as the Apple iPhone 3GS include the Motorola Droid, Samsung Omnia, Palm Pre, Google Nexus, HTC range of phones, and a lot more.

Be Smart. Choose Wisely. Never Buy An iPhone.

Phone Comparison: Apple iPhone 3GS vs. Motorola Droid

The iPhone is Apples first foray into the production of mobile phones and was released in January 2007. Apple has released three generations of the iPhone since then, which include the iPhone Original, iPhone 3G and the current iPhone 3GS. The iPhone was named the Invention of 2007 by Time magazine and has been hailed as the best smartphone available. Amidst all the hype and hoopla surrounding the iPhone, Motorola - the company that invented the first mobile phone - released its own competitor to the iPhone called the Droid in November 2009. The Motorola Droid has also been the subject of intense hype and media reports and reviews. A lot of people are speculating on whether it can knock the iPhone off its perch as the number one smartphone to own and therefore, it is only right that someone compares both phones so that a clear picture of their capabilities can be seen. Enjoy the review.

Firstly, a look at what makes both phones tick.

Operating System: The Apple iPhone 3GS runs on the iPhone OS version 3.1.2 which is similar to the Mac OS X operating system. The Motorola Droid runs on the Google Android version 2.0 which is based on Linux. The Android allows Java applications, Adobe Flash and a host of other technologies to be run on the Droid; while the iPhone OS is not compatible with some of technologies which are currently widely available. The Android allows you to customize your Droid as you want and install whichever applications you like. The iPhone OS requires applications which have been created explicitly for the iPhone. The Android also features multitasking which the iPhone OS has not currently implemented.

Processor: The iPhone 3GS has a Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex-A8 processor which runs at 600 MHz. The Droid features a TI OMAP 3430 Arm Cortex-A8 processor which runs at 550 MHz.

Power: Both the iPhone 3GS and the Droid have an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The Droids battery is removable and can be replaced by the user. The iPhones battery is non-removable and can only be replaced by Apple. The iPhone has up to 5 hours of 3G talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. The Droid has up to 6.4 hours of 3G talk time and up to 270 hours of standby time.

Storage Capacity: The iPhone 3GS features only flash memory in sizes of 16GB or 32GB.The Droid features flash memory up to 512MB and comes with an included 16GB microSD which is expandable to 32 GB.

Now, to compare what we can actually see.

Screen: The iPhone 3GS has a 3.5 inch LCD touchscreen. The Droid has a slightly larger 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen. The Droid has an 854 x 480 pixel display (265 pixels per inch) which is higher than the iPhones 320 x 480 display (163 pixels per inch). Both phones allow multi-touch gestures using the bare hand. The iPhone has an accelerometer that can detect the orientation of the device in the users hand and change the screen display between portrait and landscape modes accordingly.

Camera: The iPhone 3GS comes with a 3.0 megapixel camera while the Droid has a 5.0 megapixel camera. The Droid also comes equipped with flash. Both cameras are equipped with low light capabilities that allow clear pictures to be taken in low light conditions. Both phones also feature video recording and the iPhone has video editing features.

Keyboard: The iPhone 3GS has a touchscreen keyboard which can be used in both portrait and landscape modes. The Droid has a physical keyboard which is revealed when the touchscreen is slid up.

Price: The iPhone 3GS sells for $199 when you purchase it with an AT&T phone contract and sells for $599 without a contract. The Droid sells for $199 when purchased with a Verizon phone contract and sells for $599 without a contract.

Network Carrier: The iPhone is only available on the AT&T network while the Droid is only available on the Verizon network.

Other Features

Both phones feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS navigation and voice commands. Applications can be added to the iPhone 3GS by purchasing and downloading them from the Apple App Store which has up to 100,000 applications. The iPhone has to be hacked (called Jailbreaking) before it can accept applications from other sources. Applications can be added to the Droid from the Android Market which has up to 13,000 applications. Other applications from other sources can also be added to the Droid.

Find the Best iPhone Case at a Great Price

One of the most important accessories that you will choose after purchasing your iPhone3G will be a case to protect it. Many people choose to not use a case because the iPhone 3G feels so great in your hands. However, the iPhone's screen is glass and can be broken. A case can't prevent all breakage, but it can reduce the risk.

Following are the steps to help you choose your iPhone case:

Step 1: First, you will want to decide which type of case you would like. Among the choices are leather, hard plastic, rubberized and soft silicone. The best way to decide this is to go to an AT&T or Apple store, a mall kiosk that sells phone cases and Wal-Mart or Best Buy.

You will also need to choose between a case that snaps around your phone and is not easily removed, a leather case that your iPhone will slip into (and will also easily slip out of!), cases that can be attached to a belt (usually leather), and soft silicone cases that can be easily removed.

Step 2: Once you chosen a style, you need to pick a color. You can ask the store employees if the case comes in different colors, but that often just tells you which colors that store carries.

The manufacturers often make other case colors. If you can find out the manufacturer's name, you can try to find their website through a google search. If you can't get the manufacturer's name, you will have to search by description to find it online (can be much harder).

The cell phone accessory kiosks in malls often have a large selection of iPhone cases in a dizzying number of colors. You might have a harder time finding out the manufacturer from them, however.

Step 3: Now that you know what is available and which one you prefer, you can start your search. I would recommend going to the manufacturer's site (if you know the manufacturer) first to get the exact name of the model you prefer. This makes it easier to search.

Go to Google and enter as much information as you have. For example, I searched with the keywords "black rubberized rhinestone iphone 3g case" to find the one that I wanted. You might have to dig through lots of websites to find it, but I have often been successful.

You can also go directly to Amazon and eBay where there are hundreds of 3rd party sellers that might have that one special case for a great price.

Step 4: While you are viewing the cases that you find on the intenet, keep track of the prices at which the cases are listed, but also check out the shipping costs at each site because shipping might negate any savings over buying it locally vs. buying online. Many online sites do not charge tax, however, which is also a factor.

Good luck finding the perfect iPhone case! I was able to find my perfect case at a 50% savings by purchasing on the internet, even after taking shipping into consideration.

IPhone 5 will be postponed and released in September

After sales boom of iPad2 and white iPhone4, topics on the iPhone5 have been pushed to the cusp. According to informed sources, AT & T has received notice from Apple that in June and July there is no new iPhone product to be launched ,later there will be a new product. But Apple did not inform the release date of new iPhone.AT & T said that if there is accurate information, they will be posted to its Web site.

A report recently released by Apple unofficial blog AppleInsider also showed that Apple would commence to operate the iPhone5 production in September this year and officially they would be on sale in October.

However, the China wholesale ePathChina analyst also expressed doubts on the notice: "generally message from a customer service representative would reveal some of the information before the official announcement, but the authenticity is in need of confirm because the company executives decision is difficult to be revealed to the general employees before the announcement. "

For the reasons causing the delay of IPhone5, experts said, probably because the Japanese earthquake or other reasons cause the lack of the raw materials and seriously damage the original production chain, so Apple had to change the original plan.

"However, Apple's multi-chain production model let the company has a lot of leeway at management of manufacturing," said ePathChina Yide Huang, he believes that Apple's original supply can be adjusted as soon as possible.

Bulk wholesale electornics ePathChina analyst Yide Huang said: "Apple changing the habits of posting a new in June in the past, presumably is to have enough time to produce sufficient quantities of products."

In addition to iPhone5 release time, some of its media properties were discovered. According to many guesses, a new generation of iPhone will do substantially changes in the shape, the overall style will be close to the MacBookAir, and the touch screen size will increase to 3.7-inch, the gesture sensing feature will be be added to the Home button.

EpathChina Yide Huang said that view from the production plan of iPhone5, the 5th generation products will be built with a 800-megapixel camera, and using Apple's new A5 processor. In addition, Apple will reportedly use a new wireless chip that can support both GSM and CDMA network, and improve the accept terms of the signal.

IPhone 5 to Be Released on October 4th

Invitation card of the release conference

At a glance, the invitation card is composed of these four pictures. The first one indicates the release date of iPhone5 -- the new model will be launched on October 4th; the second one shows the time, at 10 o'clock; the third picture reveals the location -- the conference will be held at Apple's headquarter, California, USA; the last one, the red 1 on the top right corner probably represents a new pattern of the new model and its meaning is not clear yet.

The most eye-catching element s of the invitation is the fourth picture, the red one. Some says it represents that Apple will release an iPhone5 Bluetooth Stereo Headset and a improved version of iPhone 4S, but others deem this as nonsense, Apple probably is going to launch just one model.

At the bottom of the invitation card, it reads "About iPhone"(Let's talk iPhone). And the exact time of the conference is 10 a.m., October 5th at PT.

Some insiders said that this time Apple would release iPhone5, and there is no clue why they choose the headquarter to hold the conference. But there were report that Apple was going to make use of the base station to perform its new function of 4G LTE.

It was also said that iPhone5 is equipped with A5 Dual Core Processor, 1GB RAM, 8million pixel camera, assistant Voice Navigation, and Nuance voice-to-text technology. Some insiders also predict that Apple will launch a low-priced iPhone.

Besides, according to a Japanese blog website Macotakara, iPhone 5 will be first released in 5 countries which include the US, France, German, Japan, and the UK.

The new MacBook Pro notebooks - How to resist your iPad 2 craving

I won't name names, but we have an editor here in the office, who, every time a new Apple product comes out, says he isn't going to get it. He had the iPhone 3GS and said he was going to wait for the iPhone 5 and not get the iPhone 4. Two weeks later, he had the iPhone 4 and had given his 3GS to his wife.

I said, "Dude, where's your discipline?"

"I know, I know," he replied sheepishly. "But I wanted it. I couldn't resist."

He's got an iPad, the original. I know he's going to get an iPad 2, even though he says he isn't. How do I know? Because the moment Steve Jobs got up on stage and showed his first slide, he said, "Gee, that looks pretty nice." He had him at hello.

The iPad 2 Symbol 21-61261-01 batterydidn't look any different from what we expected it to look like--and it didn't look all that different from the original iPad. But suddenly there on stage in the flesh it had taken on a new, irresistible sheen. Not the Charlie kind of Sheen. Just the Apple kind.

"Dude," I said, "Buckle down. You've got a kid, you live in a small, overpriced New York apartment that you can't really afford on your editor's salary. Save your money. You don't need another iPad."

"I know, I know," he muttered again. "But those graphics, the games..." And then he got that I-can-rationalize-this-purchase look in his eyes. It was the look that had sent his older-generation iPhone packing to his wife. Little did she realize she was about to inherit his so-last-year tablet.

I decided there was only one thing to do: tempt him with the future to kill the present temptation. There were other Apple products worth holding out for, I said. Four to be exact. Or four that I could think of anyway.

I offered to write a column about it and put the products in a nice, bullet-pointed list. Like this:

MacBook Air with Intel Sandy Bridge: Sure the iPad 2 is nice, but a lot of Apple lovers have their eyes on the MacBook Air. CNET Editor Dan Ackerman has given the latest-generation Air high marks, saying that despite its limited connectivity options, it's now "powerful enough to use as a mainstream laptop." But there are plenty of folks who think the Air's still a little underpowered and are waiting for it to get a processor upgrade to the Intel Sandy Bridge chips that are now in the new MacBook Pro notebooks.

Sure, some people can afford an iPad 2 Bosch 2 607 335 264 batteryand a next-generation Air, but many can't. And given the choice, if I had an original iPad (which I do), I'd rather take the dough I'd spend on an iPad 2 and apply it toward a next-generation Air, which after all, is a full-fledged machine that supports Flash (yes, truth be told, I'm becoming increasingly irritated that I cannot access Flash content from my iPad).

Of course, the big question is when will Apple upgrade the Air line? It took its time going from gen-1 to gen-2 and I suspect it may be a few months (Brooke Crothers says June), before it gets the performance bump. It's worth the wait, however.

iPhone 5: In June, Apple is due to roll out its fifth-generation iPhone. Rumors have been all over the map, with some suggesting that multiple models will be available and that we might even see Apple go with a larger 4-inch screen and a design more reminiscent of the iPad 2. Opinion is divided over whether it will have true 4G support or not, but the one thing you can rest assured on is that it will have the new dual-core A5 processor in it.

My fellow editor, who owns the iPhone 4, suggested that if he caved and bought the iPad 2, he wouldn't get the next iPhone. I told him, "Wouldn't it be better to wait for the next iPhone before you make that decision?" He grudgingly agreed that I might have a point.

iPad Mini: OK, here's the product I'm personally holding out for. You can call it what you want: A jumbo iPod Touch, an iPad Nano, an iPad Mini, whatever. It's basically Apple's version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab or Barnes & Noble Nook Color. Steve Jobs says going smaller with the iPad has big drawbacks and Apple won't do it, but the fact is, it makes a lot of sense. Critics of tablets with a 7-inch screens describe them as "tweener" devices, but I actually like the form factor of a 7-inch tablet and I expect we'll start seeing a lot more Android tablets in such sizes. I also wouldn't be at all surprised if Apple heads them off at the pass--despite Jobs' claims to the contrary.

Ideally, of course, such a device, if it were to come into being, would start at $300 (for a 16GB version)--and that's probably doable for Apple. As for possible launch dates, I'd target this one to coincide with Apple's launch of its new iPods in September. Just a guess, but with the iPod Panasonic EY9021B batteryTouch pretty full-baked (sure, it could use a high-resolution camera and faster processor, but what else?), it might be a good idea to extend that line to include a larger Touch.

iPad 3: I always argue that when it comes to Apple's mobile products, it's good idea to skip a generation. For what most people are doing with the iPad (e-mail, Web surfing, reading books, streaming video, and playing games like Angry Birds), you can make do just fine for another year with the original iPad. OK, so you won't be able to conduct FaceTime video chats, but it's not the end of the world. You know the next 9.7-inch iPad, which will most likely be released in March 2012, will be thinner, lighter, have a faster process, and a better screen. And you only have to wait 365 days to get it.

Bonus selection: It's worth noting that Apple will eventually add the iPad 2 to its list of refurbished products. In October of last year, Apple started offering refurbished iPads for $50 off, then dropped the price a bit more in December. Now it's offering the original 16GB base model for $350 or $150 off its initial price (of course, you can also go the used route on eBay or Amazon).

My nameless colleague probably won't listen to any of this, of course. In which case I might have to resort to Plan B. Lock him in a room for 24 hours with five Android fanboys. Or at least threaten to lock him in a room with five Android fanboys. That should do the trick.

What do you guys think? Any other upcoming Apple products you'd rather put your money toward instead of an iPad 2? Yeah, I said "Apple products," but if you've got anything else to suggest, I'm game, too.
