Let?s Reel in Again iPhone 5 Expectations - Technology

Five things we want of iPhone 5

Now that the much awaited date of the iPhone 5 announcement is finally set, and this is the first public appearance of Tim Cook to present the newest addition to the iPhone 5 product line, we can expect that on October 4, the acme of Apple's present success is double the fun! Indeed, the event will be twice as spectacular as it has always been.

But the tech-savvy and Apple cult of fanatics have already pitched in plenty of speculations about what features and capabilities the iPhone 5 can surprise us with. Before the iPhone 5 materializes, the techosphere is already saturated with rumors and expectations from the ever-insatiable public.

With all the iPhone 5 can offer, these are five of the things we hope to see according to Yahoo! News

1. Wireless Charging to Go along with Wireless Syncing

If the HP TouchPad has it, then there is no way for a tech Giant such as Apple not to go by. Just like it, we want to place the iPhone 5 in a charger and juice back up without the need to plug any cables in. Though this isn't easy, we want Apple to know that a multi-purpose iPhone can dig more things if you can use it more flexibly. It is fascinating to go completely cord-free to keep our iPhone 5 charged .

2. Camera Improvement

With the successful enhancements of the OS and iCloud, we expect to have an iPhone 5 that has serious camera improvements- especially the resolution. There are alleged leaked iPhone 5 photos that exhibit aperture close to that of point-and-shoot cameras. Also, we want the iPhone 5 used as a universal camera which is perfect for family use. This is to remove the need of bringing a heavy point-and-shoot camera in addition to our smartphone.

3. Unlock the Gate

We want to be free to choose our carriers. If a lot of these network service carriers have access to their iPhone 5, an unlocked phone does make sense.

4. Near-field Communication

According to the Yahoo News update on iPhone 5:

"Near field communication (NFC) is a relatively new technology that provides wireless communication between two devices. The concept behind NFC is that you have an inanimate object, like a card, poster, or label, and a gadget which serves as a reader. Objects targeted by the reader don't need power to be read, which is what would allow the target to be embedded in just about anything you can imagine. The target gets its power from the reader itself by extracting power from the wireless signal.

Once the target is turned on this way, it can send data back to the reader. It might sound like scanning barcodes, but NFC will be much more flexible and secure. You can do a lot more with this kind of communication method than you could with a simple barcode."

This kind of technology is something iPhone 5 should not miss having. NFC will be a booming innovation in the telecommunications processes, and it could be somewhat disconcerting for Apple not to raise the bar and say, 'We got an app for that!".

5. iPhone 5 like iPhone Nano in the works?

"Our final wish for the iPhone 5 is, essentially, a little brother. Since the cost tiers for iPhone models are proportional to its internal storage capacity, a smaller iPhone based on cloud storage seems like it would be the least expensive option. That's what the rumored iPhone nano is all about. Working hand-in-hand with iCloud to keep files on the internet and streaming the content to your phone, the iPhone nano would obviate the need for big onboard memory."

Aren't these things expected of Apple? Well some we've been rooting for since the beginning of time, while others are just simple proposal to alleviate the dire needs of an iPhone user.
