IPhone 5: What We Want to Know - Technology - Gadgets and Gizmos

Everybody is undoubtedly excited for the release of the iPhone 5, the next generation iPhone. Though some are a bit skeptical about its delay. Everything about it has been a mystery since Apple itself has kept its gateways shut from any information.

According to Gary Marshall's article posted on TechRadar, rumors and a lot of discussions have been circling around the next generation iPhone focusing on its mysterious existence and its much-anticipated unveiling.

These are just some of the most believable fearless forecast about the iPhone 5 as of this date.

Release Date

Rumor has it that the iPhone 5 will be released in September 2011. This was cited by three sources who gave the word to Reuters. This date was generated because of 'seeming confirmations' as Pegatron, an Apple manufacturer was given an order to produce a whopping number of 15 million handsets ready for the autumn launch.

The iOS 5, the rumored Dual Core processor that the iPhone 5 will possess, was confirmed by this year's WWDC, as Apple is focusing on software upgrade and development. Apple's Chief Financial Officer, Peter Oppenheimer, openly concluded that there is "a lot going on in the fall with iOS 5 and iCloud," but added there will be a "future product transition that we will not talk about today".

Debut of the Year: iPhone 5 + iOS 5

It is a hot topic that the iPhone 5 will have the iOS 5, a Mac processor, so it is safe to say that both technologies will arrive at the same time: autumn.

Features

a. Voice Control

As the iPhone 5 will be the most sophisticated version of the iPhone, a new type of voice control is expected. KnowYourMobile suggests that the new type of voice control will be called 'Assistant' and it could be used for music playback, FaceTime calls and text messaging.

b. An iCloud based iPhone 5

"Cutting the Cable" --- This is what Apple called the presence of iOS 5. Probably, plugging cables will not be missed. Devices can be activated without using iTunes. Everything can be done with lesser restrictions.

Delta updates are on the way, where keeping your OS updated will be done systematically without plugging in anywhere.

iPhone 4S? iPhone 5? Which is which?!

The iPhone 3G was followed by the iPhone 3GS. Is Apple making an iPhone 4S or an iPhone 4GS? A lot of confusion has been going on about this. Are there going to be two more versions of the iPhone 4 before the coming of the iPhone 5?

It was just May when analyst Peter Misek, claimed that the device might be called the iPhone 4S because it will include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support.Things are getting more and more confusing as updates on Apple's Asian manufacturers report on their materials. Also, news about rumored developments and ideas continue to rule the internet.

The Rumors

March 7

The new iPhone will do away with the glass back and opt instead for a metal back which will act as a new iPhone antenna.

April 7

Suggestions abound that we could see the bezel put to good use on the new iPhone. The patent describes how visual indicators and touch-sensitive buttons could be incorporated to the space around the iPhone screen.

May 3

Rumors suggest that there may even be two versions of the new iPhone: a 'standard' iPhone 5 and an iPhone 5 'pro'. Apparently, Apple is buying in components of differing quality, and those parts wouldn't be required for a single phone.

iPhone Nano? (Cheaper and Smaller iPhone 5)

A prototype form of a smaller iPhone is alleged to be existent, assembled to keep at bay with the competition with cheap Android phones.

Hearsays around an iPhone Nano were up again on February 13 when the Wall Street Journal appealed that the supposed 'iPhone Nano' exists and perhaps be available on sale later this year.

Those iPhone Nano chitchats may clutch little truth, though. The New York Times cites an unidentified source who says there will be no smaller iPhone 5 or iPhone from Apple. "The size of the device would not vary," says the source.

The 5th generation iPhone is believed to have all the ultramodern qualities you'll love once you have it! Customers will experience an even more refined range of applications. Although the release date is yet to be known and the iPhone 5's appearance and features are wrapped in rumors, there is no doubt that the ever popular brand will gain success in unveiling one of their most anticipated gadgets.
