Rumors are hovering thick and quick in regards to the release of iPhone 5 also commonly referred to as iPhone 4S. In reality, the rumors about iPhone 5 release have become rather a rage with the telephony industry certain that the new phone will make its entrance in September. Tech fanatics as well as Apple fans are fervently awaiting the release of iPhone 5, however Apple is still facing competition from other smart phone manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola and Samsung.

Product specifications

4G

4G has become the latest rage, especially amongst smartphone enthusiasts given that it provides them with fast internet access. Currently, mobile telephony service providers AT&T plus Verizon are the only ones that are offering 4G services. Some of the rumors flying around are that Apple is deferring the release of iPhone 5 so as to make it a 4G handset to the carriers. But, there are also rumors that Apple want may give Sprint to the new iPhone.

Camera

Apple has made adjustment in the camera section by fitting the current iPhone 4 with a 5-megapixel camera along with LED flash. However, rumors are flying around that iPhone 5 may be fitted with an 8 megapixel camera. The lens to the phone will be supplied by either Sony or Omnivision.

Processor

There is an almost agreement in consumer electronic circles that Apple will introduce its dual-core A5 processor to the new iPhone 5 smartphone. The dual-core A5 chip is similar to the one used to power iPad 2. It is expected that the A5 processor will be in the range of 1.2 GHz to 1.5GHz given that numerous Android smartphones already have processor speeds of 1.2GHz. Plus, other smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung already have phones running dual-core processors.

Other features that iPhone 5 smartphone are expected to have are HDMI-Out port, enhanced graphics, increased memory capacity of up to 64GB and an improved battery life.
