The iPhone 4 probably made the iPhone brand synonymous with the high-end phones, despite the problems with the signal receptions during the early stages. Even though Apple has significantly managed to remove, the disadvantage is within the phone, it is not quite up to the mark when it comes to competing with the latest phones like the Samsung Galaxy S 2. In addition, it is about time that Apple launched a successor to the iPhone, which it usually does during June. The delay may have been caused because the next iPhone, branded as the iPhone 5, could be the best iPhone of all and by a great margin as well. Many expect it to be the ultimate in the smartphone industry given that it will be having the Samsung Galaxy S2 to compete.
Apple has been furious with Samsung for copying much of its patent designs, but will be having the chance to pay them back with the iPhone 5. This phone is going to feature a touchscreen that is almost closer to the size of the screen found on the Samsung phone. However, Apple has been able to improve the size without actually increasing the overall size of the phone. This has been done by using the edge-to-edge display technology. This technology has been seen in many electronic gadgets so far, but only manufacturing companies now the reason for not including it in the mobile phones. Apple took credit for having made the touchscreen display technology stick in the mobile phone industry, and perhaps there will be taking the credit for this technology as well.
The usage of the edge-to-edge display technology could improve the screen size to up to 4 inches, although these are only predictions, as nobody knows the exact size of the screen. However, one thing that everybody can be pretty sure about is the presence of a new design. So far, no two generations of iPhone's have been similar, which could result in serious design changes in the upcoming iPhone 5. The biggest change of all that is expected in the new iPhone 5 is the presence of a new processor. Even though there are claims that this will be similar to the dual core unit used in the iPad 2, new reports reveal that there will be slight changes in the processor that is going to be employed in the iPhone 5.
This has been done with both efficiency and performance requirements in mind. The eight megapixel camera, however, seems to be the only confirmed feature of the upcoming iPhone 5. This camera will be manufactured by Sony and is expected to feature the latest line-up of technologies designed to get the best out of the pictures. Many consider the five-megapixel unit in the iPhone 4 to be one of the best, despite its smaller megapixel count. One can expect the eight-megapixel unit to be no different. The iPhone 5 could be launched within September, although it mostly relies on Apple confirming the same.
