It is just me or does it seem like a new gadget is being released with mass fanfare every day? With so many gadgets to choose from how do you know which one is right for you?
This is the scenario with the new iPhone 5. It is coming out in September and people are talking about it. Some good and some not so good but what is surprising is that people are talking about what it can do before they even have it.
Or do they?
While the launch of the iPhone 5 won't happen until September it doesn't mean that people are not in possession of it. In fact, you may be surprised to know that people in the general public will get their hands on some of the latest tech gadgets before the launch.
How can they do that?
It's very simple actually although it's not something that is widely talked about. How it is done is through promotional companies. You see, companies like Apple, will work with a promotional company that will give out their products to the general public. People will become testers for the product just to get their testimonial or review. These reviews are used to create the frenzy that happens when the actual product launch occurs for the general public to purchase.
Something else also occurs when they give away these products. They create a larger fan base. Think about it. If a company were to give you a new gadget how would you feel about them? Would you have a favorable impression of the company? Would you tell everyone about the company and how great their product is?
These companies know the answer is yes otherwise they wouldn't do it. They use the Law of Reciprocity to their advantage. By giving you something you then feel obligated to do something for them. It's more powerful than any other form of advertising. It was once called "word of mouth advertising" but you probably know it as "going viral".
The more you talk about it the more other people will want to buy it. The more you talk about it the more others will begin talking about it. You talk about it on your Facebook page or on Twitter and before you know it others who don't even have it are talking about it and wanting to get it.
Where can I find a promotional company?
Look for reputable companies. You can do a search on the web but watch out for scammers. Some will tell you where to find it for a fee. You are basically sold a list of where to go but it can lead you nowhere. Many good companies will give you the information you need just by giving them your email address.
