One of the most anticipated phones of 2011 will of course is the Apple iPhone 5. As always Apple is a master at keeping the specifications of this new smartphone a secret, however so far several rumors and leaked photos of parts of the iPhone 5 have found their way on to the internet.
One of the most important improvements of the iPhone 5 is the processor. It is expected that the iPhone 5 will be running on Apples new A5 CPU (a Cortex A9-based, multi-core chip) which will again significantly increase the speed of the device. According to engadget the CPU is said to be blazingly fast, cranking out 1080p video "like running water." There are also rumors indicating that the iPhone 5 will again have a totally new design as was the case with the iPhone 4 when it was introduced last summer.
So far there are not much other specifications of the new iPhone that are known. Insiders expect the iPhone 5 to be evolutionary not revolutionary, meaning that they are likely to build further on the older versions of the iPhone. Keeping that in mind we might see a slightly larger 3.7 inch touchscreen as we dont believe that Apple will immediately come with a 4.0 plus inch touchscreen for their new device. Apple might also improve the camera to an 8 megapixel one, however this is not really necessary as the 5 megapixel camera of the iPhone 4 has already proven to be better than many 8 or even 12 megapixel cameras of other smartphones. We do expect Apple to also introduce iOS 5 together with the iPhone 5 bringing al new kind of features to the Apple smartphones and also improve the usability of the phones.
The apple iPhone 5 is expected to be introduced at the end of June 2011 and the phone will most likely hit the stores in July. Until then people will keep on speculating about the specifications of this already legendary smartphone.
