Even though the Apple iPhone 4 has witnessed extraordinary sales following the launch of the phone in June 2010, it has not been devoid of controversy at all. The major issue that has been affecting the iPhone 4 has been the signal reception issues, which have been caused due to the usage of the plastic and glass body for the phone. Apart from that, the phone is also suffering from the increasing competition that is featuring the likes of the dual core processors more and more. Hence, Apple needed a suitable replacement for the iPhone 4, which is seems to be better than the current version in every way. The iPhone 5 is a phone that is rumoured to be replacing the phone in the near future.
The iPhone 5 will be offered with a screen that will for the first time features an increase in the size. So far, Apple has been using only the 3.5 inch screen and it has resisted the opportunity to increase the screen size. The main reason that has been quoted for the non-incremental screen size has been portability, but it is going to be solved following the launch of the edge to edge technology in the new phone. This means that Apple will be able to bring about the increasing the screen size without increasing the actual size of the phone itself. This is going to make a huge difference to the way that the phone looks, but it will not be altering the size of the phone at all. In fact, it is expected to be even thinner than the current version of the Apple iPhone, which is retaining the title of being the thinnest phone in the world.
The iPhone 5 is expected to come with the same retina display technology, although some changes are expected in the technology to make it on par with the competition, which includes the Super AMOLED technology in the Samsung phones. The iPhone 5 is also expected to come with the dual core processor, which has been awaited for long in the Apple stable. The dual core processor that is going to be used in the new iPhone 5 will be the same A5 processor that has been witnessed in the Apple iPad 2. The RAM is also expected to get a major update and will feature 1 GB instead of the 512 MB in the previous version. The iPhone 5 is also rumoured to get the NFC support, which will finally put the iPhone 5 on par with the future phones that are expected to come with this technology by default.
The iPhone 5 has been confirmed to come with an eight megapixel camera that is manufactured by Sony. This camera is also expected to bring the full HD 1080 p video recording option to the plate for the Apple iPhone brand, which is so important in the context of high-end smartphones nowadays. The iPhone 5 is expected to be launched by September of this year.
