It is safe to say that any phone lover is looking forward to the release of Apple's new iphone, the iphone 5. There are a lot of opinions out in the market about the iphone 5, some say that it is coming soon while some say that it is not coming at all. However, some industry reports have indicated that a new iphone is indeed in the production line. The CEO of Sony was one such source who recently hinted that their company is making new cameras for the new iphone, which we presume to be the iphone 5.
One might wonder how Apple is going to topple the iphone 4; what is to be expected in the iphone 5? This article will quickly touch up on some of the goodies that are going to be on offer soon. First of all, the iphone 5 is expected to be a speed demon that will run on dual core processors with a processing speed of at least 1.2 ghz. 1.2 Ghz is the sort of processing speed that you will expect in budget laptops and desktops, imagine having that power in your handheld mobile phone!. Another drastic improvement expected in the iphone 5 is that it is going to sport a 8 MP camera with the Carl Zeiss lens from Sony. One more impressive add on is that of an inbuilt navigation system in the iphone 5 that will work without any help or reliance on any network. With that kind of navigation system, one is going to find navigation applications super fast.
Another neat feature of the iphone is that it will feature facial recognition software that will unlock the phone only when it sees a familiar face that has been programmed into its system. I guess twins could steal each others iphone 5's. The iphone 5 is expected to sport HD audio while also supporting HD video.
The iphone 5 will definitely not have any problems with the antenna of the iphone 4. The new iphone will feature a multi point touch screen that will be great for gaming and general usability. What this essentially means is that the screen will recognize touches from more than one finger at a time. We can already see the mobile gamers drooling as such a multi touch point screen will greatly increase the gaming experience on the iphone 5.
The iphone 5 is expected to have a dedicated graphics card which will mean that HD video, graphics and animations are going to load at super speeds. The iPhone 5 is also expected to run on the 4g network in addition to supporting 3g network as well. The screen of the new iphone 5 might be reduced just a little bit although the new screen will be both shatter and scratch resistant. The phone will have a minimum storage capacity of 32 GB and it is not clear if it will feature 32 GB or 64 GB although 32 GB looks like a minimum as of now. Some rumors seem to suggest that the iphone 5 will feature a minimum storage of 32 GB which is quite impressive as most people don't use anywhere close to that space on their phones. The iphone 5 will probably come out with 32 GB of storage space even in the lower end model, when it does eventually come out that is.
The super geeks will be happy to know that the new iphone is going to have NFC data transfer technology that will allow for data transfer at speeds that are currently only fantasized about in the mobile world. The expected price of the iphone 5 is going to be about $500, with various networks offering their own slight variations on the price depending on the deal that you sign for.
Initial reports stated that the iphone 5 will be released in the second half of 2011 although no one really knows for sure. The release date of the iphone 5 will probably depend on the failing health of Steve Jobs as he personally does all the product launches for Apple.
